I looked over at the kitchen window while eating lunch and saw a large praying mantis climbing up the glass. This gave me a wonderful vantage point to see his abdomen, mouth, and legs up close. After downloading the photos that I took, I realized that the camera caught more intense detail than my eyes were able to see.
Later that day he got completely tangled in the spider webs festooned across the window. I was able to extricate him unharmed and he promptly left the area.
This photo inspired me to start a new blog. Look up close at the details in the natural world. A bug on a leaf, pollen dropped on a flower petal. We can see the world in new ways every day. That's what I want to share.
